1. Definitely choose a "Real Estate Focused" website provider. (Trust me). Real Estate web providers have already done their homework and have contracts for DDF, VOW, and IDX feeds. You need these contracts to have TREB / Office Listings show up on your website.
2. Find a provider you are comfortable with. Ask questions,
Do they have a help line?
How much will they charge you to add a website page?
Do they have videos online to help you learn to use the website?
Is there a Client Relationship Management system where you can send emails to your clients?
3. Even if you are not "tech savvy" you will need to know how to log in to your website -- theres no way around it. This is the door to your business and you better not loose the key.
4. Stay up to date. No matter how much you pay for a website, $20-$200/month, there is no magic way to generate leads on its own. Your provider is giving you the tools to grow your site, add pages for your favourite neighbourhoods, start a blog, add client testimonials, listing presentations etc etc.
Bottom Line: There are 140,000 websites created everyday. You should be logging in frequently to remind Google you're still there.
